1885

Methodist missionaries first arrived in Central Africa, bringing the Gospel to the region.

1920s

Establishment of the first Methodist churches and schools in Congo and Zambia.

1968

Formation of the United Methodist Church through the merger of the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

1990s

Expansion of ministries including health services, education, and community development programs.

2000s

Creation of the South Congo & Zambia Episcopal Area, strengthening regional cooperation and ministry.

Today

Continuing to grow and serve communities across South Congo and Zambia with renewed vision and commitment.
